This project was a deep dive into the visual storytelling of the Wild West.
I created a fully illustrated deck of cards, each piece designed to feel aged and authentic, using classic Western imagery: cowboys, outlaws, and frontier women to evoke the rugged, dramatic energy of the era.
The goal was to merge traditional playing card design with a heavily illustrated, narrative-driven approach.
Illustration Meets Design: Crafting Each Card
Every card was carefully crafted to balance playability with visual complexity. The illustrations lean into the grit and charm of the Old West, using texture, hand-drawn line work, and subtle aging effects to suggest history and wear.
The deck plays with hierarchy and composition in each card, making sure iconic Western tropes (gunslingers, sheriffs, saloons) tell a story without overpowering the functional card design.
It’s a project that combines illustration, graphic design, and storytelling into a cohesive collectible deck.
